Over 1,500 hospital workers in the Humber region are to get back pay from April 2021 to compensate them for their work. A deal has been reached between trade union UNISON and the NHS<\/a> Humber Health Partnership to raise healthcare assistants in East Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire up a grade.<\/p>\n Healthcare assistants were carrying out tasks, like taking blood, performing electrocardiogram tests and inserting cannulas, that UNISON says should have been paid at a higher rate. The NHS Humber Health Partnership has agreed to move them up a grade, and provide back pay from April 2021 to compensate them for their work.<\/p>\n The deal includes workers who previously worked at the hospitals too. It follows the regrading of maternity support workers employed by NLAG earlier this year, UNISON says. It\u2019s only right that they are regraded and fairly compensated for the work they\u2019ve done previously.”<\/p>\n The union says the outcome is another success of its Pay Fair for Patient Care<\/a> campaign. Through this, it has won more than \u00a3200m for over 40,000 healthcare workers since 2021. NHS Humber Health Partnership were contacted for comment opportunity.<\/p>\n
