A man has been arrested for drink driving a 24-tonne bulldozer through a city centre.<\/p>\n
Footage showed the huge earthmover crashing into a Royal Mail<\/a> lorry in the centre of Wolverhampton<\/a>.<\/p>\n Officers were alerted to reports that the construction vehicle had been stolen from an address in Stafford.<\/p>\n The thief, a 41-year-old man, drove the earthmover down Bridgnorth Road, Compton Road West, and even onto the A4150 dual carriageway.<\/p>\n By late Saturday afternoon, the bulldozer had wreaked havoc, damaging street furniture and tearing through road surfaces.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/a><\/strong> newsletter or get Breaking News<\/a> <\/strong>alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n He then finally came to a stop on New Road, Willenhall at 8.15pm.<\/p>\n Charlene Harris, 47, who filmed the incident, was at a pub when she saw crowds rush out to a commotion outside.<\/p>\n \t\t She recalled: \u2018When we came out, it looked like the police were stopping the Royal Mail van, but then we realised a copper was driving it.<\/p>\n \u2018It was being used to block the road. The police were shouting at everyone to keep away \u2013 and then we got word that a\u00a0bulldozer<\/strong>\u00a0was coming down from Willenhall.<\/p>\n \u2018The\u00a0bulldozer<\/strong>\u00a0got through the lorry easily. We couldn\u2019t believe what was going on.
