Jamie Carragher has criticised Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate following their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City. The Frenchman endured a difficult afternoon at the Etihad Stadium as his errors led to a penalty and Erling Haaland’s opener.<\/p>\n

Carragher says the 26-year-old is struggling for form away from home as he lamented the defender’s decision to not clear the danger.<\/p>\n “I just want to look at this match up in the middle between Konate and Haaland. Konate was heavily involved in the penalty again, he\u2019s having a really tough time and it feels like we\u2019re saying it week after week,” he said.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n “It\u2019s a bit of luck for Man City because Haaland doesn\u2019t know much about it. Look at Haaland\u2019s jump compared to Konate, he\u2019s trying to flick the ball on and as a defender, that\u2019s a last resort.<\/p>\n “He\u2019s not even off the ground and he\u2019s trying to flick it on, go and get as high as you can and head that ball away. I don\u2019t understand at all what he\u2019s trying to do.
