A SIGNIFICANT building in an Easter Ross town looks set to have \u201cblind spot\u201d mirrors installed after a bus incident.<\/p>\n
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) proposal relates to its offices in Tain\u2019s Stafford Street.<\/p>\n
The plan is to install two external blind spot mirrors at the entrance to Tain COPFS.<\/p>\n
Background papers lodged with planning authority Highland Council state: \u201cAfter a recent health and safety audit, it was recommended to install a traffic management mirror to the existing entrance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis would provide a wide angle view around the current public entrance, aiding visibility of pedestrians and traffic in blind spots, enabling pedestrians and road users to take correct actions to avoid collisions. This request has come from the COPFS H&S manager, as a consequence of a bus scraping the wall close to this public entrance.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is hoped that installing these blind spot mirrors will improve safety when exiting the office and save bumping into other pedestrians and\/or show traffic on the road immediately outside the office.\u201d<\/p>\n
The proposal now being considered by Highland Council has been lodged by Billy Law of COPFS.<\/p>\n
