Pierce Brosnan<\/a> has reunited with his estranged son 20 years after he revealed he had \u2018cut him off\u2019 for not kicking his drug addiction.<\/p>\n The James Bond<\/a> star, 72, was spotted leaving the restaurant, Dorian, in London<\/a>\u2019s Notting Hill last week with his 52-year-old filmmaker son Christopher.<\/p>\n Christopher, who worked as an assistant director on two of Pierce\u2019s James Bond films, is the biological son of Pierce\u2019s late first wife, Australian actress Cassandra Harris, and her ex-husband Dermot.<\/p>\n Pierce, who is a father of five, later went on to marry his current wife, Keely Shaye, which was when he adopted both Chris and his late sister Charlotte when their birth father died in 1986.<\/p>\n Christopher, who starred in the original series of Love Island<\/a> in 2005, has suffered from cocaine and heroin addictions and was jailed for three months for drink-driving in 1997 after being fined \u00a31,000 for the same offence the previous year.<\/p>\n In 2002, he also nearly died of a drug overdose before he was arrested for possession of heroin in 2005.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t His sister Charlotte died in 2013 at the age of just 41 from ovarian cancer, which was the same illness that took the life of her mother.<\/p>\n Pierce previously spoke about their estrangement during an interview with Playboy in 2005.<\/p>\n He said: \u2018Christopher is still very lost. Shockingly so. I know where he is, but he\u2019s having a hard life. I can only have strong faith and believe he will recover. <\/p>\n \u2018He has tested everybody in this family, but none more so than himself. He knows how to get out. He doesn\u2019t want to. It\u2019s painful because you shut down.<\/p>\n \u2018You never completely cut them off, but I have cut Christopher off. I had to say: \u2018Go. Get busy living, or get busy dying. He has my prayers.\u2019<\/p>\n During their get together on Wednesday last week, an onlooker told the Mirror<\/a>: \u2018They both looked happy and relaxed while sitting down with one of Brosnan\u2019s other sons Dylan. Pierce and Christopher\u2019s problems have been well documented. <\/p>\n \u2018But it seems they\u2019ve managed to put them behind them. It was really nice to see them together.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t Earlier this year, Pierce revealed his \u2018one regret\u2019 about playing the Bond character.<\/a><\/p>\n The 72-year-old actor started his career onstage before winning a part in the TV show Remington Steele in the 1980s.<\/p>\n After then being signed up to play 007 in the mid-1990s, he starred in four films: GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.<\/p>\n However, in September, he revealed that he wishes he had gone back to his theatre roots after ending his career-defining turn as the superspy, like his successor Daniel Craig did.<\/p>\n \u2018[My acting teacher Christopher Fettes] wanted me doing obscure 19th-century plays, but my dream was always movies,\u2019 he told\u00a0The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018I was impressed that Daniel had the bottle to go back out there.
