{"id":561457,"date":"2025-11-10T13:33:16","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T13:33:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/561457\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T13:33:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T13:33:16","slug":"chinas-importers-sign-record-us83-5-billion-in-deals-at-ciie-after-us-china-trade-truce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/561457\/","title":{"rendered":"China\u2019s importers sign record US$83.5 billion in deals at CIIE after US-China trade truce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chinese companies signed a record US$83.5 billion in import deals at the <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/business\/china-business\/article\/3332092\/chinas-growing-elderly-market-new-frontier-international-companies?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"noopener\">China International Import Expo (CIIE)<\/a> in Shanghai, reinforcing the importance of mainland consumers as growth drivers for global businesses and the world economy less than two weeks after the US and China reached a trade truce.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The total \u2013 the fifth straight record high for the annual six-day event, which concluded on Monday \u2013 represented a 4.4 per cent increase from a year earlier, according to the organiser, the CIIE Bureau.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cChinese companies have increased purchases of foreign-made goods that local consumers desire and need,\u201d said Ding Haifeng, a consultant at Shanghai-based financial advisory firm Integrity. \u201cThe trade pact between the world\u2019s two largest economies gave foreign manufacturers and local merchants much confidence in concluding deals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">According to the CIIE Bureau, a unit of the Ministry of Commerce, the contracts were preliminary, and some of the deals might not be finalised.
