We’ve all heard of the big cinema chains, but there’s a screening room in Manchester that’s still pretty much a well-hidden secret.<\/p>\n

Flix, a 43-seat boutique screening room, is inside the new Treehouse Hotel, which opened in the city centre earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A whimsical, nature-inspired bolthole, the boutique hotel brand already has sites in London and Miami and opened its latest destination on the former Renaissance hotel site in March.<\/p>\n

Part of the wider regeneration at the end of Deansgate<\/a>, the 224-key property features dreamy, playful interiors and contemporary food and drink concepts and has reimagined the city centre landmark by turning the old hotel building into a treehouse in the heart of the city.<\/p>\n

But you don’t have to be staying at the hotel to enjoy the cinema as it’s open to anyone – and there’s a host of Christmas<\/a> and family films showing this festive season.<\/p>\n

The movie action kicks off on Friday, November 21 when the screening room will host a special film club premiere of Wicked: For Good (2025).<\/p>\n

There’ll be two screenings \u2013 at 4.30pm for a family-friendly screening, and at 7.30pm for a special screening with themed cocktails and a DJ set following the film.<\/p>\n

Tickets are priced at \u00a312.50 for adults and \u00a36.50 for children and are available to book on the Treehouse website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Flix promises ‘a premium cinematic experience, featuring 4K projection and Dolby Atmos surround sound to ensure an exceptional viewing in a stylish and intimate setting’.<\/p>\n

Other scheduled films include the likes of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Elf, Love Actually, The Polar Express, Home Alone and more.<\/p>\n

This exclusive screening marks the latest event in Treehouse Hotel Manchester\u2019s growing cultural calendar, celebrating film, creativity and community.<\/p>\n

The \u00a325m boutique hotel, which also features the Pip restaurant from acclaimed chef Mary-Ellen McTague<\/a>, is located on Blackfriars Street in Deansgate.<\/p>\n

Part of the Starwood Hotels collection, pillars and walls are covered in repurposed wood, while foliage and greenery is carefully draped from the ceiling to create the feeling of having stepped into a cosy treehouse away from the hustle and bustle of Deansgate.<\/p>\n
