Sean Lennon<\/a> has hit out at Snow White<\/a> star Rachel Zegler<\/a>, calling her a \u201cspoiled, ungrateful and disconnected brat\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lennon, the son of Yoko Ono<\/a> and late Beatles<\/a> icon John Lennon<\/a>, recently took to X\/Twitter to say he \u201cagree[d] the vilification\u201d of Zegler had gone \u201ctoo far\u201d.<\/p>\n

However, the musician added: \u201cBut she also acts like a spoiled, ungrateful and disconnected brat. So it\u2019s no surprise.\u201d\u00a0 The post has since been deleted.<\/p>\n

This came after Zegler\u2019s political opinions put her at odds with Disney<\/a>, which reportedly hired a \u201csocial media guru\u201d to vet her posts during the press tour<\/a> for the new live-action remake of Snow White.<\/p>\n

Following last year\u2019s Presidential election, the actor wrote \u201cFuck Donald Trump<\/a>\u201d and \u201cMay Trump supporters \u2026 and Trump himself never know peace\u201d online. The statement drew criticism from conservative commentators, leading Zegler to later apologise.<\/p>\n

Additionally, there had been divisive reactions to her comments about Palestine.<\/p>\n

These controversies, as well as\u00a0abusive comments about the Latin actor\u2019s casting<\/a>, are believed to have led to Snow White\u2018s disappointing box office opening. The movie has been review-bombed on IMDB, where it is currently ranked among the worst films ever<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a separate post earlier, Lennon reportedly called Zegler and her Snow White co-star Gal Gadot \u201cexceptionally beautiful women\u201d, responding to sexist comments about their appearance (via The Independent<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Jonah Platt \u2013 son of Snow White producer Marc Platt \u2013 has hit out at Zegler for \u201cdragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also said that the actor\u2019s \u201cactions [had] clearly hurt the film\u2019s box office\u201d, adding: \u201cFree speech does not mean you\u2019re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zegler first sparked backlash among conservative and right-wing commentators in 2023, when she suggested the remake would be more feminist than the original film, which was released in 1937.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s no longer 1937 \u2013 she\u2019s not going to be saved by the prince, and she\u2019s not going to be dreaming about true love,\u201d she explained at the time. \u201cShe\u2019s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor backtracked on the comments ahead of the film\u2019s release. This came after she agreed to work with a social media specialist who approved all her posts in the run-up to Snow White being released earlier this month.<\/p>\n

The film received a poor response from critics as well, with a \u201crotten\u201d 41 per cent score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. Here, the critics consensus reads: \u201cSnow White is hardly a grumpy time at the movies thanks to Rachel Zegler\u2019s luminous star turn, but its bashful treatment of the source material along with some dopey stylistic choices won\u2019t make everyone happy, either.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gal Gadot, who is Israeli, and plays the Evil Queen in the remake, recently shrugged off the backlash to her past pro-Israel comments<\/a>. \u201cWhen your compass is clear, your conscience is clean,\u201d she said. \u201cI know what I\u2019m advocating for, and I know what I wish for the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gadot served as part of the Israeli Defence Force in the \u201800s, and been a vocal supporter of Israel during the Hamas war and conflict with Palestine. She was also among 700 Hollywood stars who signed an open letter<\/a>\u00a0supporting Israel in the days after the initial Hamas attack.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Pedro Pascal has expressed his support for Zegler amid Snow White\u2018s poor reception<\/a>, calling her an \u201cicon\u201d.<\/p>\n

Last summer, Sean Lennon called Prince Harry an \u201cidiot\u201d<\/a> in response to his memoir Spare. He wrote: \u201cMy long awaited review of Prince Harry\u2019s autobiography is two words.\u2018Spare Me\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

2024 also saw the singer-songwriter team up with Paul McCartney\u2019s son James on a joint track, \u2018Primrose Hill\u2019<\/a>. Later that year, Lennon claimed that his mother \u201cnever has moved on from [her] relationship\u201d with his late father<\/a>.<\/p>\n
