{"id":562017,"date":"2025-11-10T19:28:22","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T19:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/562017\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T19:28:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T19:28:22","slug":"eastenders-character-confirmed-dead-in-shocking-and-vital-new-story-soaps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/562017\/","title":{"rendered":"EastEnders character confirmed dead in shocking and vital new story | Soaps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"646\" height=\"363\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/SEC_273838631-9f17.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-24667887\" alt=\"A silhouette image of Okie in front of a grim, EastEnders backdrop\" decoding=\"sync\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tCaption: EastEnders character dead in stabbing in shocking early BBC iPlayer release<br \/>\ncredit: BBC<\/p>\n<p>Okie Okyere\u2019s (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) reign of terror is set to be brought to a violent, bloody end, as the EastEnders drug dealer, exploiter, and all around wrong\u2019un will die at the hands of <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/harry-mitchell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harry Mitchell<\/a> (<a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/elijah-holloway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elijah Holloway<\/a>) in tomorrows episode, as the nightmarish \u2018cuckooing\u2019 plot comes to an end.<\/p>\n<p>Okie emerged in Albert Square when <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/ravi-gulati\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ravi Gulati<\/a>\u00a0(<a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/aaron-thiara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aaron Thiara<\/a>), having lost his families fortune when <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/bernie-taylor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bernie Taylor<\/a>\u00a0(<a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/clair-norris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clair Norris<\/a>) <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/01\/two-eastenders-exits-early-bbc-release-characters-flee-walford-good-23548667\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cleared out the Panesar-empire bank accounts<\/a> before fleeing, turned to <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/nicola-mitchell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nicola Mitchell<\/a>\u00a0(<a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/laura-doddington\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laura Doddington<\/a>) for a drugs contact to <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/07\/nicola-issues-a-dark-warning-to-ravi-in-eastenders-and-hell-soon-learn-she-was-right-23552102\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">make some quick cash<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Nicola\u2019s warning that the people she knew weren\u2019t to be trifled with, Ravi set about establishing a drug syndicate and after <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/10\/huge-ravi-harry-twist-eastenders-early-bbc-release-partnership-takes-unexpected-turn-23626457\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">putting Okie in line<\/a>, he made him his lieutenant.<\/p>\n<p>Things darkened for Ravi and Okie as their original base was <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/09\/08\/eastenders-exit-story-ravi-set-take-care-popular-character-disturbing-drugs-saga-24108493\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raided by the police<\/a>. Knowing they had Harry <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/07\/huge-eastenders-drugs-twist-early-bbc-iplayer-release-two-favourites-reel-23599777\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firmly under their thumb<\/a> after he tried to protect <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/08\/11\/eastenders-nightmare-walford-favourite-takes-drugs-horror-scenes-23885868\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho<\/a>), who\u2019d unwittingly flushed the drug stash, the two turned their attention to Kojo himself.<\/p>\n<p>Kojo, who, as an autistic man, would be particularly vulnerable to the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/08\/20\/eastenders-gun-shocker-early-bbc-iplayer-release-legend-faces-death-23956675\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cuckooing process<\/a>. Masking their blackmail and manipulation under the guise of genuine friendship, they infiltrated Kojo\u2019s flat and made it the base of their operation, while also turning Kojo into a drug runner.<\/p>\n<p>A real life issue<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/528748-880e.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-24046682\" alt=\"Okie and Ravi have a conversation in EastEnders\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tOkie and Ravi formed a dangerous alliance (Picture: BBC\/Jack Barns\/Kieron McCarron)<\/p>\n<p>Cuckooing refers to the practice whereby criminals take over a person\u2019s dwelling (often the home of a vulnerable person) to use it for illegal activities.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the storyline, EastEnders boss, Ben Wadey said: \u2018At EastEnders, we\u2019re proud to tell stories that reflect the real challenges people face, and Kojo\u2019s cuckooing storyline is one that feels especially important.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u2018Cuckooing is a form of exploitation that too often goes unseen and hasn\u2019t featured on EastEnders before. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Through Kojo\u2019s experience we hope to have shined a light on how easily vulnerable people can be manipulated and isolated \u2013 something that can happen in any community, but feels particularly resonant in a city like London, where people live side by side and yet can still slip through the cracks. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Working closely with experts and charities, our aim has been to tell this story with care and authenticity, and to raise awareness as to how to identify the signs of exploitation and the importance of reaching out for help.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/533717-5f43.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-24535337\" alt=\"Kojo Asare, holding his hands over his ears in EastEnders\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tRavi and Okie had cuckoo\u2019d Kojo (Picture: BBC\/Jack Barns\/Kieron McCarron)<\/p>\n<p>EastEnders has worked alongside both Causeway and National Autistic Society, as well as experts in the field on the cuckooing element of the storyline.<\/p>\n<p>Helen Ball, CEO of Causeway, a modern slavery charity said: \u2018Causeway are proud to have supported EastEnders on this important and timely storyline. Cuckooing is a cruel and dehumanising form of exploitation where the home of someone vulnerable is taken over by criminals. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018We were grateful to EastEnders for the opportunity to work with their team on the research behind this storyline and we hope that by shining a light on cuckooing, EastEnders can help raise awareness of the issue and help people spot the signs of grooming and exploitation around them.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/527713-ea87.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23940562\" alt=\"Okie sitting across from Kojo in his flat in EastEnders\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tOkie masked his manipulation with false friendship (Picture: BBC\/Jack Barnes\/Kieron McCarron)<\/p>\n<p>Dr Judith Brown, Head of Evidence and Research at the National Autistic Society also commented on working with the \u2018Enders bosses to carefully and truthfully portray the story:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s a privilege to work with the EastEnders team on such a painful yet significant storyline about Kojo\u2019s \u2018cuckooing\u2019 or home takeover. We thank the entire EastEnders team for focusing on a genuine issue that impacts the lives of autistic people.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The awful truth is that autistic people are more at risk of abuse, victimisation and exploitation than non-autistic people. Because autistic people can find it hard to interpret social cues, emotions and inferred meaning, some may not always recognise manipulative or dangerous behaviours from others. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018We hope this storyline encourages any autistic person or parent of autistic children to learn what abuse and exploitation can look like.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Okie\u2019s downfall<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"439\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/528928-d17a.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-24107007\" alt=\"Ravi Gulati, Okie and Harry Mitchell in EastEnders\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tRavi and Okie held Harry hostage when he tried to free his best friend (Picture: BBC\/Jack Barns\/Kieron McCarron)<\/p>\n<p>When Harry desperately sought a way out, Nicola stepped in to protect her boy and cut a deal with Ravi in exchange for her sons freedom. Harry couldn\u2019t bear to leave Kojo to be exploited by Ravi and Okie, though, enlisting his dad, <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/teddy-mitchell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teddy Mitchell<\/a>\u00a0(<a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/roland-manookian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roland Manookian<\/a>), to <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/09\/30\/teddys-life-line-eastenders-trapped-killer-ravi-24294437\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">help free him<\/a>, too, with the aid of a secret camera.<\/p>\n<p>Upon discovering the scheme, Ravi and Okie <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/10\/08\/okies-twisted-new-plan-make-harry-suffer-eastenders-targets-gina-24372637\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">held Harry hostage<\/a>. Though Harry disclosed everything needed to shut the hidden camera down, Ravi was forced to make a <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/10\/11\/exit-story-eastenders-ravi-avani-a-warning-issued-24391913\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quick escape<\/a> upon learning that drug kingpins were hunting him down after he\u2019d begun selling on rival turf.<\/p>\n<p>Leaving Okie <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/10\/27\/ravi-takes-a-big-step-eastenders-dark-drugs-story-okie-assumes-control-24508100\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in charge of the entire operation<\/a> in his absence, Ravi\u2019s final order to his second-in-command was to free Harry \u2013 an order that Okie firmly ignored, chaining him up in Kojo\u2019s spare bedroom, denying him food and encouraging him to take drugs to make the situation more bearable. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/533752-550b.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-24535400\" alt=\"Harry, who is sitting on a bed, speaks to Kojo in EastEnders\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tKojo was desperate to free his friend (Picture: BBC\/Jack Barns\/Kieron McCarron)<\/p>\n<p>Okie attempted <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/10\/12\/teddy-seeks-help-from-an-unexpected-eastenders-icon-as-he-fears-the-worst-about-harry-24381992\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(and failed)<\/a> to convince the rest of the square that Harry and Kojo had taken a holiday to Cardiff, while continuing to use Kojo as a drugs mule.<\/p>\n<p>Kojo, terrified at the worsening state of his best friend, <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/10\/29\/eastenders-kojo-harry-plan-daring-escape-okie-closes-24536724\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hatched an escape plot<\/a>, being forced to leave a desperately unwell Harry behind, rushing home and informing George of the situation they\u2019d found themselves trapped in. As Kojo, George and Teddy headed across the square to rescue Harry, they found Okie preparing to take him away in a van, only dropping his lifeless body when police sirens began to approach.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/534407-daad.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-24600646\" alt=\"Okie looms over Kojo in a threatening manner in EastEnders\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tKojo finally got to go home, but ran straight into Okie (Picture: BBC\/Jack Barns\/Kieron McCarron)<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/534406-aff0.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-24600645\" alt=\"Okie looms over Kojo in a threatening manner in EastEnders\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tOkie\u2019s hungry for revenge (Picture: BBC\/Jack Barns\/Kieron McCarron)<\/p>\n<p>In todays episode, Ravi, having <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/11\/06\/eastenders-confirms-unexpected-ravi-twist-finally-ends-okie-drugs-storyline-24636823\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confessed all to the police<\/a> and agreeing to become an informant, was sought out by Okie, desperate to regain control of the rapidly spiralling situation and in major trouble with his higher-ups in the drug chain. A despondent Ravi, however, only offered Okie some advice: run, as fast and as far as he can.<\/p>\n<p>As Harry suffered withdrawal symptoms at home, Kojo was eager to return to his flat, despite George\u2019s protestations, finding his opportunity as George talked to <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/junior-knight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Junior Knight<\/a>\u00a0(<a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/micah-balfour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Micah Balfour<\/a>).
