platforms, the country\u2019s Finance Ministry has announced.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>French authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retail-insight-network.com\/news\/france-moves-suspend-shein-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">initiated proceedings<\/a> to suspend the operations of online fast-fashion retailer after they found prohibited products, including childlike sex dolls and illegal weapons, being sold on its platform.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.retail-insight-network.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/GMS-logo.svg\" <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The action came on the same day the fast-fashion company opened its first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retail-insight-network.com\/news\/shein-first-outlet-france\/?cf-view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">physical store<\/a> in a Paris department store.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In early November 2025, France\u2019s economy minister, Roland Lescure,\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.retail-insight-network.com\/news\/shein-could-be-banned-in-france-after-sex-doll-scandal\/?utm_source=&amp;utm_medium=18-116814&amp;utm_campaign=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">warned<\/a>\u202fthat Shein could be barred from the French market if childlike sex dolls reappear on its e-commerce platform.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ministry announced that it would suspend Shein\u2019s entire website in France, not just its marketplace, if banned products persisted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Friday 7 November, the French consumer watchdog confirmed that all illegal items, including medicines, had been taken down from Shein.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu requested a fresh assessment within one week, adding: \u201cShein will remain under close surveillance by state services.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/retail-consumer\/france-lets-shein-resume-operation-after-it-withdrew-all-illicit-products-2025-11-07\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a>: \u201cShein remains committed to dialogue with the French authorities in order to address the concerns raised and to present the measures we have put in place to continue improving.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lecornu also stated that separate judicial proceedings seeking the suspension of the platform are unaffected by the decision.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in China in 2012 and now
