A GAA club has asked for prayers for a former player of their club who suffered injuries described as \u2018critical\u2019 after a collision involving a lorry. <\/p>\n
Earlier, emergency services attended scene of a serious road traffic collision outside Limavady.<\/p>\n
Two fire appliances, police, ambulance, and the charity air ambulance were at the scene on the Boleran Road between Coleraine, Garvagh and Limavady.<\/p>\n
A young girl has since been airlifted to Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children for further injuries which have been described as \u201ccritical\u201d. <\/p>\n
In a social media post, Ballerin GAA asked for prayers for the girl: \u201cWe ask our community to come together to pray for a young member who was injured in an accident this evening.<\/p>\n
“The rosary will be said at 8pm in St Mary\u2019s Church. Padre Pio pray for her\u201d. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s understood the young girl is a former player at the club, while her family are still members. <\/p>\n

The road has been closed to traffic, with specialist rescue teams working at the scene.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: \u201cPolice received a report of a road traffic collision in the Boleran Road area of Limavady involving a lorry and a child pedestrian shortly before 4pm, today Monday 10th November.<\/p>\n
\u201cOfficers alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe girl remains in hospital at this time being treated for injuries which are described as critical.<\/p>\n
