The Ratliff family’s storyline<\/a> has been complete chaos on The White Lotus season 3<\/a>, but ended with Timothy Ratliff finally accepting his financial ruin (after an attempted murder-suicide and accidental almost-death) as his kids check their phones for the very first time post-vacation. <\/p>\n

The viewer doesn’t get to see Lochlan, Saxon, Piper<\/a>, or Victoria react to the news, but!! Creator Mike White vaguely teased what happens to the family\u2014and specifically Victoria\u2014post-show.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a bittersweet ending,\u201d he said. \u201cLife goes on past this personal valley, but what\u2019s going to happen without their comforts? I don\u2019t think Victoria is someone who can live in poverty. I\u2019m sure she can come up with some other solution.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that Victoria \u201chas a superiority complex and it has extended to her kids and it\u2019s turned it into a little bit of a cult where they\u2019re all kind of incestuous, that nobody\u2019s good enough and so they\u2019re all kind of looking inward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Patrick Schwarzenegger<\/a> told Variety<\/a> that Mike wanted there to be ambiguity when the family turned their phones back on: “When we power our phones on, is that when we know everything about our dad? Mike likes ambiguity,” he explained. “He wants people to have these conversations. He shot two-and-a-half hours for the finale and boiled it down to 90 minutes. That\u2019s already a stretch for HBO to give. It was always scripted how it aired. Mike did say he wanted it to be me who looks to my dad after my phone comes on \u2014 because they work together and there are more consequences for Saxon.” <\/p>\n
