(WKYT) &#8211; In December, Quaynell King was shot and killed on Versailles Rd. in Lexington. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">King\u2019s partner is now saying she is helping her daughter and other children who have lost loved ones to process their big emotions that come with grief and loss. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAs a parent, it is my job to teach her and help her communicate her feelings and emotions,\u201d said Brionna Conn, Quaynell\u2019s partner. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Conn says her interactive journal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B0F5492T5X?ref=cm_sw_r_ffobk_cso_cp_apin_dp_BH50JQZJXZ0HV8Q9QRX9&amp;ref_=cm_sw_r_ffobk_cso_cp_apin_dp_BH50JQZJXZ0HV8Q9QRX9&amp;social_share=cm_sw_r_ffobk_cso_cp_apin_dp_BH50JQZJXZ0HV8Q9QRX9&amp;bestFormat=true&amp;previewDoh=1&amp;fbclid=IwY2xjawJ7mhpleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFQZ0MzQlE2a0ZrcjJxeHFwAR48tz7w1kzlN064Cqw0peUFDYH1UbUExgNXRAYNmo6waKSLcWnVZ7u4DY4xkw_aem_eb8NkNIAiNGOvGJnzaRrwA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">My Heart Remembers Dad: Interactive Grief Journal for Children<\/a>, is based on the journey of her daughter Quaylani following the death of her father. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Conn included King\u2019s story in the pages of the book. She said the book is about continuing King\u2019s legacy of giving back. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">King was known as a community activists, helping Lexingtonians in need. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"> \u201cI felt like [the book is] a good way for children to be comfortable with those emotions that they\u2019re feeling and have them honor their loved one because their memory will always live on,\u201d said Conn. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Conn said Quaylani is still a little young to fully understand what the book says and what the entire situation means, but Conn said she wants the book to embody what she says king was all about &#8212; peace and positivity. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou\u2019re a strong little girl, you\u2019re beautiful, the things that her dad says, she often times repeats those things, and I don\u2019t want her to forget,\u201d said Conn. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">King\u2019s family has started a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/support-quaynells-family-and-community-mission?attribution_id=sl:0a3701b2-3fde-418d-9476-0935e9b56d4f&amp;utm_campaign=natman_sharesheet_dash&amp;utm_medium=customer&amp;utm_source=copy_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe<\/a> to help support his children, Quayveon and Quaylani, and to help give back to the community that King\u2019s family says he loved. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WKYT.
