Police have issued a major update one week after a woman was found dead on a Trafford<\/a> estate.<\/p>\n

Officers attended Forsythia Walk, in Partington<\/a>, last Tuesday evening (November 4) following concerns for a person’s welfare.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said a woman in her 40s was sadly found dead at the scene<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Her death was being treated as unexplained and an investigation has been taking place.<\/p>\n

In an update issued this morning (Tuesday, November 11), GMP says a Home Office post-mortem has taken place following the woman’s death.<\/p>\n

The results of the post-mortem are inconclusive, GMP says. Enquiries remain ongoing following the post-mortem.<\/p>\n

At least three GMP vehicles were seen parked close to the scene last Tuesday evening, plus an ambulance.<\/p>\n

Officers remained in attendance nearby on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Neighbours told the Manchester Evening News of their shock after news of the woman’s death emerged last week.<\/p>\n

They described the woman as someone who ‘kept herself to herself’ but ‘was nice’. She has not yet been named publicly.<\/p>\n

One resident described the news as ‘really awful’, while a second added: “Awful isn\u2019t it? Just horrible. She was nice, quiet but always smiled. Very sad.”<\/p>\n

Another neighbour said: “We didn\u2019t know her that well. We\u2019d say ‘hi’ to each other if she did leave the house.
