Prince George surprised royal fans when he attended the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday<\/a> (November 8). However, he was nowhere to be seen during the following day\u2019s Remembrance Sunday service in Whitehall, London.<\/p>\n Now, the apparent reason behind the 12-year-old royal\u2019s absence may have been explained.<\/p>\n Sunday saw the royals out as they attended the annual Remembrance Sunday service in central London.<\/p>\n King Charles led the tributes<\/a>, with Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince Edward, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and Edward, Duke of Kent, also present.<\/p>\n Around 10,000 military veterans took part in a march near the Cenotaph, with 20 WWII veterans also in attendance.<\/p>\n The PM, Keir Starmer, was also present, as were former prime ministers, including Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak, and Tony Blair.<\/p>\n However, despite attending Saturday\u2019s Remembrance festival, Prince George wasn\u2019t at Sunday\u2019s service.<\/p>\n According to Town and Country<\/a> magazine, the reason Prince George wasn\u2019t at the service was for a simple reason \u2013 he\u2019s not old enough.<\/p>\n As the outlet points out, George\u2019s father, Prince William, didn\u2019t make his first appearance at the Remembrance Sunday service until he was much older, 22 years old in fact.<\/p>\n This was in 2004; however, it wasn\u2019t until 2007 that the now-Prince of Wales laid a wreath at the Cenotaph for the first time. Prince Harry had to wait until 2009, when he was 25, to lay his first wreath at the Cenotaph.<\/p>\n With George being just 12 years old, it could be another 10 years before we see him at the annual service at Whitehall, if his father\u2019s involvement is anything to go by.<\/p>\n Royal Insider has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.<\/p>\n It\u2019s safe to say that fans of the royals were overjoyed that George joined his family for the annual Festival of Remembrance on Saturday.<\/p>\n Many took to social media to gush over the young royal\u2019s involvement.<\/p>\n \u201cAwwww we have another first\u00a0tonight at Albert Hall, HRH the Princess of Wales is accompanied by her son, HRH Prince George.\u00a0Such a wonderful first mother and son engagement. They both look sharp and happy,\u201d one fan tweeted.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cCatherine has heels on. George must be\u00a0as tall as her<\/a>. He does look so grown up,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe fact I remember Prince William being born, and now seeing his son looking so grow up, makes me feel soooo old,\u201d a third gushed.<\/p>\n \u201cSuch a touching moment!
