Sally Kirkland has died<\/a>. She was 84.<\/p>\n

The \u201cAnna\u201d actress died Tuesday at 1:50 a.m. PT, with her rep, Michael Greene, confirming the news to TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Page Six has reached out to reps for comment but didn\u2019t receive any at the time of publication.<\/p>\n

Her death comes just two days after her rep told us she had entered hospice care<\/a> amid her battle with dementia.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u00a0continues to receive medical care at a private facility where family and friends joined her on Halloween for a birthday celebration,\u201d Page Six was told.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the Oscar nominee had been suffering from various health issues.<\/p>\n

In 2024, she fractured four bones in her neck, right wrist and left hip. During her recovery, she \u201cdeveloped two separate life-threatening infections,\u201d according to a GoFundMe. <\/p>\n

Her insurance wouldn\u2019t cover all of her mounting medical expenses, as organizers of her fundraiser page explained her dire situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been a challenging few months for Sally as her health continues to struggle,\u201d Her GoFundMe page reads. \u201cShe had a fall in the shower, when she was left unattended; injuring her ribs, foot, along with cuts and bruises.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSally is now receiving 24\/7 care in a specialized facility, that is providing wonderful safety and care,\u201d the message continued. \u201cWe are continuing to try raise money to cover the gaps between income and care costs. Thank you for all the love, support, and care for Sally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last Friday, the organizers confirmed that she had entered hospice and thanked contributors for their \u201clove and support.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Kirkland was known for her title role in the 1987 comedy-drama \u201cAnna,\u201d for which she earned a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination. <\/p>\n

The late actress starred in over 200 movies and films throughout her decades-long career, including projects such as \u201cCharlie\u2019s Angels, \u201cJFK\u201d and \u201cBruce Almighty.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hollywood icon was born in New York City and got her start in Off-Broadway productions in the 1960s. A one-time member of Andy Warhol\u2019s \u201cFactory\u201d group, she was part of the Big Apple\u2019s avant-garde scene and participated in experimental work. <\/p>\n

Her mother, also named Sally Kirkland (n\u00e9e Bishop), was a prominent fashion editor at Vogue, and her father, Frederick McMichael Kirkland, worked in the scrap metal business. <\/p>\n
