{"id":564537,"date":"2025-11-11T23:08:17","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T23:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/564537\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T23:08:17","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T23:08:17","slug":"a-bentley-mulsanne-that-chauffeured-king-charles-is-heading-to-auction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/564537\/","title":{"rendered":"A Bentley Mulsanne That Chauffeured King Charles Is Heading to Auction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tYou could soon cruise the streets like a certain British monarch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tA 2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/bentley\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bentley\" data-tag=\"bentley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bentley<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/mulsanne\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mulsanne\" data-tag=\"mulsanne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mulsanne<\/a> that transported <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/king-charles-iii\/\" id=\"auto-tag_king-charles-iii\" data-tag=\"king-charles-iii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King Charles III<\/a> will be auctioned off by H&amp;H Classics this December. It is expected to fetch between \u00a380,000 and \u00a3100,000 (about $105,000 and $132,000 at the current exchange rate), thanks to that royal provenance and, of course, the Bentley pedigree. (The original suggested retail price for a base model was around $302,425.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe car originally belonged to Bentley\u2019s Press and Special Vehicles department, from which it was allocated to the British <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/tag\/royal-family\/\" id=\"auto-tag_royal-family\" data-tag=\"royal-family\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">royal family<\/a> in December 2013. It was used to take His Royal Highness, then the Prince of Wales, to various royal engagements across the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cFor many years Bentley has been the Royal Family\u2019s marque of choice, and luxury cars do not come much finer than the Mulsanne,\u201d Paul Cheetham, senior motor car specialist at H&amp;H Classics, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tNamed after the famous corner on the 24 Hours of Le Mans racing circuit, the Mulsanne originally debuted in 1980 but was discontinued shortly after in 1992. The first-generation model, which was essentially a badge-engineered version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, was then completely reimagined in the early 2000s. The <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/motors\/cars\/the-biggest-bentley-ever-built-235186\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all-new Mulsanne<\/a> debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d\u2019Elegance in 2009, after which the sedan dutifully served as the Bentley flagship for a decade. The marque <a href=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/motors\/cars\/bentley-final-goodbye-flagship-mulsanne-2931484\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stopped making the Mulsanne<\/a> in 2020, meaning rides like the king\u2019s are sure to spark a little nostalgia in the hearts of collectors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/robbreport.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-robbreport-2017-v2\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.gif\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/King-Charles-2013-Bentley-Mulsanne-6.jpeg\" alt=\"King Charles 2013 Bentley Mulsanne Leather Interior\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tThe Magnolia leather interior with burr walnut trim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis particular Mulsanne showcases a Dark Sapphire exterior and Magnolia leather interior. It was constructed to an extremely high specification, with original equipment including four-wheel air suspension, burr walnut interior trim, digital radio and television reception, and a power-closing boot. Under the hood lies a 6.75-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 capable of producing 505 hp and 752 ft lbs of torque. The speedy sedan can sprint from zero to 60 mph in about 5.1 seconds and hit 184 mph at full tilt. Not that Charles would have experienced any of that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe four-door remains in excellent condition throughout, according to the auction house.
