THE Only Way Is Essex star Dan Edgar has made a shock confession over his romance with Ella Rae Wise.<\/p>\n

The reality TV hunk was in an on-off romance with Ella<\/a> until it came crashing down just days before she entered the Celebrity<\/a> Big Brother<\/a> house.<\/p>\n

Ella ended the romance and then went straight into the house but scenes currently playing out on ITVBe<\/a>‘s TOWIE were filmed before they called time on their relationship.<\/p>\n

In the show’s latest episode, Dan<\/a> made a shock confession about his romance with Ella that left his co-star Diags and Roman Hackett <\/a>stunned.<\/p>\n

Dan confessed that he had never formally asked Ella to be his girlfriend.<\/p>\n

Instead, he took an assuming approach they were an item due to the amount of time they had spent with one another.<\/p>\n

He later admitted he told Ella she was his girlfriend when she enquired about the status of their relationship.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the show, Roman appeared confused as he asked Dan: “Are you going to ask [Ella] to be your girlfriend?”<\/p>\n

Dan answered back: “It wasn’t that I was never gonna ask her, it just got to a stage where I felt we were both happy and just going with the flow of it.”<\/p>\n

Diags insisted that Ella would want to have been formally asked.<\/p>\n

He told Dan to “pull your finger out of your a**e and ask her”.<\/p>\n

Roman then joked Dan had just been telling people “we are together, innit,” but Dan rebuffed the suggestion, saying: “I didn’t say it like that.<\/p>\n

“I never said that. I said to her ‘we are [together]’.<\/p>\n

“I just said to her ‘we are in a relationship’.”<\/p>\n

Diags then quipped that his gesture was “so romantic” in a sarcastic comment.<\/p>\n

It comes after Ella was seen breaking down in tears over the end of the romance<\/a> during her first few days in the CBB house.<\/p>\n

On the show, Ella was quizzed on her relationship status by housemates Angellica Bell and JoJo Siwa<\/a>, who were shocked to learn how recent she and Dan had broken up.<\/p>\n

She told them: “It was a week ago.”<\/p>\n

As she started to sob, presenter Angellica, 49, said: “I knew something wasn’t right.”<\/p>\n

Ella replied: “I just feel like an idiot because I knew he wasn’t going be what I wanted him to be.<\/p>\n

“I don’t want to waste years trying to change someone. It doesn’t mean we can’t be friends, because we can.”<\/p>\n

Ella exclusively confirmed she and Dan had split<\/a>\u00a0when speaking to The Sun before entering the CBB house.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe are not together. And it’s really, really sad that we’re not together. We split up a week ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has nothing to do with\u00a0Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn’t feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other.”<\/p>\n
