May 1 is earmarked as having the potential to be the hottest day of the year so far – and perhaps the warmest since last September, when the UK faces 29C highs. The temperature could break 29C at times this week, forecasters say.<\/p>\n
Counties set to benefit, according to Netweather TV, include Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Leicestershire and London as well as Northamptonshire.<\/p>\n

Scotland will see lingering cloud, particularly in the north, but it will remain largely dry with sunny spells.<\/p>\n Wednesday will be warmer with plenty of sunshine, although the far north may see showery outbreaks of rain.<\/p>\n Thursday will be cloudy with patchy rain in the north, but the south will be very warm with plenty of sunshine, though a heavy, thundery shower is possible in the south.
