A family have been left heartbroken following the death of a 64-year-old man in a collision in Gwynedd<\/a>. Geraint Jones, who is from the area, has been named by police as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a van on the A487 near Bontnewydd on Sunday evening, November 9.<\/p>\n North Wales<\/a> Police were alerted to the incident at around 8.30pm on Sunday. The Caernarfon bypass was closed in both directions while emergency services attended, however, Geraint was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n His family described him as a “beloved husband, father and grandfather,” and thanked emergency services and the public for their support.<\/p>\n He is survived by his wife Mary, sons Richard and Patrick, and grandchildren Ella, Leo and Isaac, reports North Wales<\/a> Live.
