Leeds United<\/a> should already have one eye on the January window as they look to boost their chances of Premier League survival.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the mood settles following a damaging defeat away at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, there\u2019s no telling if Daniel Farke is going to last much longer at Elland Road.<\/p>\n

A daunting run of games up until the new year<\/a> threatens to completely crumble Farke\u2019s optimism about registering a point per game so far<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What will Leeds United need to do in the January transfer window to stay up?<\/p>\n

With a month-and-a-half until the January window arrives, Leeds will already have plans in place for possible transfers.<\/p>\n

The most obvious area of weakness for Leeds is the right-wing spot. Attempts for Facundo Buonanotte<\/a> and then Harry Wilson came up short<\/a> late in the summer window. As a result, it left Farke short in an area he routinely stressed as crucial<\/a> to survival.<\/p>\n

Fulham\u2019s Wales international looked likely to join Leeds. However, the Cottagers pulled the plug due to their own transfer failures<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wilson, 28, is perhaps the most obvious name Leeds could turn to in the new year. His contract is currently due to expire in the summer of 2026, leaving him susceptible to cut-price offers. The issue for Leeds is that Robbie Evans (managing director) confirmed after the summer window<\/a> shut that United are on the brink of \u2018maxing out\u2019 their PSR spending.<\/p>\n

Fulham\u2019s stance on selling Harry Wilson to Leeds United in January revealed<\/p>\n

United\u2019s hopes of reigniting their interest in Wilson when January arrives has been dealt a blow. Sky Sports<\/a> reveal Marco Silva\u2019s stance on the winger.<\/p>\n

They report that Silva and Fulham are still keen to get Wilson tied down to a new contract. Such a deal would put an end to any speculation linking him away, to Leeds in particular.<\/p>\n

A hurdle for Fulham and Silva this January, though, is that finances are \u201ctight\u201d at the moment after the hefty outlay on left-winger Kevin.<\/p>\n

Silva\u2019s position at Fulham is under threat<\/a> at the moment amidst tensions between him and the club over the poor summer window. Also, their subsequent drop-off in form leaves Fulham level on points with Leeds, and just one above the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

Leeds United need to have a right-wing creator in their minds for January<\/p>\n

Wilson is the exact archetype of player Leeds need in the January window. He\u2019s a creative right-winger that cuts in off the left, links well with his full-back, and isn\u2019t afraid to pull the trigger from anywhere.<\/p>\n

Leeds are dying for that sort of player off the right. We need to deliver more crosses into Dominic Calvert-Lewin. And, if Wilson is attainable, he has to be a priority<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not the only left-footed right-winger, though. There are plenty of players out there both in England and across Europe \u2013 Leicester City\u2019s Abdul Fatawu would be one<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wilson would be great. But, this update suggests Fulham are going to fight to keep him here, especially if they\u2019re in a relegation battle with us.<\/p>\n
