Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner urged Mary Earps<\/a> to look after herself following the Reds’ 2-1 victory over PSG<\/a> – and their former goalkeeper – in the Champions League<\/a>.<\/p>\n Earps initially received a good reception from the home fans<\/a> as she came out for her warm-up. However, when the game began, the 32-year-old was booed by a section of the supporters inside Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n Eventually, the majority of the home faithful tried to drown out the boos with cheers. At the end of the game, she was given a round of applause from the home fans, ending the game on a positive note.<\/p>\n Pre-match, Earps was heavily criticised for her comments about England’s goalkeeper Hannah Hampton. Speaking to the media – during his post-match press conference – Skinner in turn shed light on what he said to his old player after the game.<\/p>\n “I said to her at the end I said; ‘Look after yourself’. because we have already spoken about mental health and how people can be affected,” he explained. “Mary is a really intelligent woman and she has been the world’s best.<\/p>\n “She understands the world she is playing in, but I thought it was a lovely atmosphere and she got a cheer as she walked down the side at the end of the game.
