{"id":567065,"date":"2025-11-13T06:35:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T06:35:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/567065\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T06:35:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T06:35:12","slug":"birmingham-charitys-appeal-to-give-pushchairs-to-families-in-need","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/567065\/","title":{"rendered":"Birmingham charity&#8217;s appeal to give pushchairs to families in need"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Birmingham Playcare Network runs a range of schemes to help families.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It collects and redistributes craft supplies for children, it gives out donated toys at Christmas, it opens up to offer a coffee and a chat and it helps mothers connect with each other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In January 2024 it launched its Safe Sleep Scheme, to give families cots and Moses baskets and with the help of a \u00a3100,000 grant from the city council it has so far distributed 1,500.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Ms Martin said it was while working on that project, she became aware of the need for pushchairs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Families without the use of a car could feel &#8220;trapped at home&#8221; without one, she said, and were unable to feel the benefits of being out and about in their local community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The lack of a pushchair also made it difficult to get to essential appointments, she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Ms Martin said the price of a basic pushchair was just \u00a342 and she asked for companies and individuals to contribute to her appeal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Birmingham Playcare Network runs a range of schemes to help families.
