A train company will increase services between Newcastle and Edinburgh as part of a new timetable. TransPennine Express (TPE) will operate the service every two hours from next month.<\/p>\n

The change will see services rise from five to eight and will add around 2,000 seats each day. The The train operator will also introduce a new early-morning commuter service from Newcastle, arriving in Edinburgh at 07:20am.<\/p>\n

They have worked with partners across the wider rail network to support the launch of the new timetable on the East Coast Mainline, which will see more frequent and faster services. It will be introduced from Sunday, December 14.<\/p>\n

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director at TPE, said: “While the majority of our services remain the same, we\u2019d encourage customers to double-check any regular journeys they make. We\u2019re pleased to be introducing improvements that offer customers more choice, greater flexibility, and a better experience when travelling with us.”<\/p>\n

There will also be significant changes to other TPE routes. These include the South route, which runs between Liverpool Lime Street and Cleethorpes via Manchester and Sheffield, and the route between Hull and Liverpool Lime Street.<\/p>\n
