{"id":568091,"date":"2025-11-13T17:43:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T17:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/568091\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T17:43:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T17:43:19","slug":"lady-frederick-windsor-calls-royal-familys-lives-hell-torture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/568091\/","title":{"rendered":"Lady Frederick Windsor calls royal family&#8217;s lives hell, torture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sophie Winkleman, also known as Lady Frederick Windsor, doesn\u2019t envy the royal family\u2019s lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Winkleman \u2014 who is married to Lord Frederick Windsor, the son of Prince Michael of Kent, first cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth II \u2014 spoke about the more senior royals in a new interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/article\/b869b903-34d9-49d0-b971-e711525394af\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Times UK.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe more I get to know the royal family, the more I get that their lives are total hell and that level of unasked-for fame is a form of torture,\u201d Winkleman, 45, said.<\/p>\n<p>Lady Frederick Windsor and Lord Frederick Windsor attend the Committal Service for Queen Elizabeth II at St George\u2019s Chapel in Sept. 2022. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The British actress continued, \u201cNone of them went on \u2018Pop Idol\u2019\u00a0or something to be famous. To have that sort of blinding spotlight in your face from when you\u2019re born, not knowing quite whom you can trust, not knowing if someone\u2019s going to betray you, people writing lies about you the whole time, is just brutal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel for them all,\u201d Winkleman admitted. \u201cI don\u2019t think a life with that much scrutiny and pressure is remotely healthy, but they have no choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similar to Meghan Markle, Winkleman was a working actress before she became a member of the royal family. She\u2019s best known for her roles in the British sitcom \u201cPeep Show\u201d and \u201cTwo and a Half Men.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winkleman married Lord Frederick Windsor, 46, at Hampton Court\u00a0Palace in London on September 12, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Lady Sophie Winkleman and King Charles III attend day five of Royal Ascot 2023. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know anyone at my wedding,\u201d she told The Times about the 400-person ceremony. \u201cI had my best pals there, but basically it was full of faces I\u2019d never seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the wedding, the couple moved to Los Angeles for the next seven years, before returning to London and settling in Battersea after the birth of their older daughter, Maud, 12. They also share daughter Isabella, 9.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s adorable, but it\u2019s not near any Tube stations or many good schools, so I don\u2019t know if we\u2019d choose it again,\u201d Winkleman said of the family\u2019s current home.<\/p>\n<p>Winkleman previously spoke to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2025\/05\/27\/sophie-windsor-maniac-mother\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Telegraph<\/a> in May about the couple\u2019s wedding and immediate move.<\/p>\n<p>Lord Frederick Windsor and Sophie Winkleman attend day seven of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships 2024. Chris Jackson\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was such a blur because we had to move to Los Angeles the day after [the wedding], and I had to start a brand new job the day after that,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we got married on Saturday and moved everything, our whole lives, out to America the day after,\u201d Winkleman continued. \u201cAnd I\u2019d been so concentrating on the work that I hadn\u2019t thought about the wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winkleman added that she has a lot of love for her husband\u2019s side of the family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFamily isn\u2019t always brilliant, but this lot are very sweet,\u201d she said. \u201cI love all of them.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sophie Winkleman, also known as Lady Frederick Windsor, doesn\u2019t envy the royal family\u2019s lifestyle.
