{"id":568323,"date":"2025-11-13T20:14:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T20:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/568323\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T20:14:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T20:14:19","slug":"vista-eyes-milei-reforms-in-bid-to-double-vaca-muerta-output","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/568323\/","title":{"rendered":"Vista Eyes Milei Reforms in Bid to Double Vaca Muerta Output"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Bloomberg) &#8212; <\/p>\n<p>Vista Energy SAB, one of the top drillers in Argentina\u2019s burgeoning shale patch, sees another round of reforms from Javier Milei as a trampoline to growth after the libertarian president notched a decisive win in midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeregulating the market \u2014 having less tax, better laws, more flexibility \u2014 could help us be more competitive,\u201d Chief Executive Officer Miguel Galuccio told Bloomberg Television from Buenos Aires. \u201cBeing more competitive means more investment, more production, more exports, more proceeds for the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Wednesday, Vista presented an investment plan for the next five years. Galuccio \u2014 who led the first incursion in the Vaca Muerta shale region more than a decade ago \u2014 said the company is aiming to surpass the equivalent of 200,000 barrels of oil a day in 2030, almost doubling this year\u2019s output of 114,000.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/1763064859_371_-1x-1.jpg\"\/>Vista Energy SAB sees reforms from Javier Milei as a way to growth after his win in midterm elections, along with expectations of reforms of Argentine labor laws. Vista Chairman &amp; CEO Miguel Galuccio sees having \u201cless tax\u201d and \u201cmore flexibility\u201d as keys to helping the company be more competitive. He joined Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec on \u2018Bloomberg Businessweek Daily\u2019 to break it down.Source: Bloomberg<\/p>\n<p>At the investor event, Galuccio said the industry needed to scale up to bring down drilling costs that are about one third higher than in the US Permian Basin, home to a remarkable shale boom that Vista and its peers are trying to emulate. To help achieve that, \u201cthere\u2019s a lot of discussion going on\u201d with the Milei administration to double down on deregulation reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Galuccio mentioned cutting taxes on exports as an area being explored in talks. Vista is also expecting Milei to pursue reforms of Argentine labor laws, which are highly restrictive for employers, in Congress this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Vaca Muerta formation can help solve Argentina\u2019s perennial problems with hard currency by driving energy trade surpluses. \u201cIf we continue doing what we\u2019re doing, we\u2019re aiming in 2030 to have a surplus of $20 billion, so it\u2019s very important for the country,\u201d Galuccio said on Bloomberg TV.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights from the investor event:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vista\u2019s plan stands up with Brent prices as low as $60\n<ul>\n<li>Galuccio sees demand growth in poorer countries helping keep prices at about $70 in coming years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Current oil pipeline expansions will be enough to accommodate aggressive production growth for Vista<\/li>\n<li>Annual capex is seen at about $1.5 billion over the next three years<\/li>\n<li>Acquisitions of more oil fields aren\u2019t required to meet targets\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cWe don\u2019t have the imperative for M&amp;A,\u201d Chief Financial Officer Pablo Vera Pinto said. \u201cWe don\u2019t need more scale for the sake of
