Leeds United<\/a> left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson<\/a> has been confirmed to have picked up an injury on international duty this week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The international break this week hopefully sees Daniel Farke get some of his key attackers back up to full fitness, having been unwilling to start Dan James or Willy Gnonto.<\/p>\n

Also, Farke will be hoping that he gets his internationals back in the squad at top fitness ahead of a crucial set of fixtures that could decide his fate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Gudmundsson revealed with ominous injury update on Sweden duty away from Leeds United<\/p>\n

One of Leeds\u2019 most consistent performers this season has been Gabriel Gudmundsson. You can see that despite the club\u2019s poor form, there\u2019s a very good Premier League left-back there for \u00a310million.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s part of Sweden\u2019s bid to qualify for the World Cup this week, needing to win both games to stand any chance of sneaking into the playoffs in March.<\/p>\n

However, Sweden\u2019s press officer Petra Thor\u00e9n (via Fotboll Skanalen<\/a>) has revealed that Gudmundsson has picked up an injury this week. Worryingly, it\u2019s described as a \u201cfeeling\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cGudmundsson was instead on the sidelines of the training session and took pictures with people who were there at the start of the training session.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Leeds United can\u2019t afford to lose Gabriel Gudmundsson at left-back <\/p>\n

James Justin did admirably off the bench against West Ham, defending very well given the circumstances against Jarrod Bowen.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s clear that Leeds\u2019 best left-back is Gudmundsson. And, he\u2019s integral to our play if we want to turn this shocking run of form around.<\/p>\n

Farke rightly copped a lot of criticism<\/a> for taking him off when we were chasing the game at Forest. Gudmundsson\u2019s driving run from in his own half right to the by-line was our only real moment of quality in the second half, and it\u2019s exactly what we need.<\/p>\n

As the report outlines, this injury is said to be a precaution for now. That hopefully means he probably won\u2019t be risks for their game against Switzerland on Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n
