Between 40-60 mm of rain is expected widely across this region with some places seeing around 80 mm.<\/p>\n
In a forecast for the West Midlands, the Met Office said: “Today: Early morning mist and fog will soon lift, leaving a much drier and brighter day for all. Plenty of sunny spells into the afternoon, though a few light showers may pop up across the north. Lighter winds, and feeling mild. Maximum temperature 15C.<\/p>\n
“Tonight: Increasingly cloudy this evening, with rain moving in from the south overnight, this persistent and sometimes heavy. Becoming rather windy too, and feeling chillier than recent nights. Minimum temperature 5C.<\/p>\n
“Friday: Widely wet with spells of rain turning persistent and heavy for all, bringing a risk of flooding and challenging driving conditions.<\/p>\n
“Very windy too, with gales possible over the hills. Maximum temperature 11C.<\/p>\n
“Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Becoming more settled over the weekend. Still rather cloudy with a few light showers on Saturday, but more widely dry on Sunday and Monday. Feeling colder, especially during the nights.”<\/p>\n

\n- Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life<\/li>\n
- Homes and businesses are likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings<\/li>\n
- Spray and flooding leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures<\/li>\n
- A good chance some communities will be cut off by flooded roads<\/li>\n
- Delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely<\/li>\n
