The action, against Silver Bay Holiday Park near Rhoscolyn, could result in six luxury lodges being removed and extensive land reinstatement carried out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">The near-the-beach lodges were built on artificially raised land to give them sea views \u201cto die for\u201d. They were part of Bulmer Leisure\u2019s Bay View development, begun in 2018 to accommodate 25 lodges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">Silver Bay Holiday Park was established almost 40 years ago by the famous cider-making Bulmer family, basing it in on the Bodior Estate they once used as their own holiday retreat. The park offers access to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailypost.co.uk\/news\/north-wales-news\/almost-deserted-sandy-beach-north-32049291\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"one of Anglesey\u2019s most unspoilt beachesLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">one of Anglesey\u2019s most unspoilt beaches<\/a> and a decade ago a luxury leisure complex was built as part of a \u00a32.5m site upgrade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">Bulmer Leisure argued the land in question had been an integral part of the venture for more than a decade, with no barriers between it and the rest of the caravan park. Moreover, the site had been clearly distinguishable from the open land beyond, said the company. <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailypost.co.uk\/news\/north-wales-news\/join-north-wales-live-whatsapp-27935216\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Join the North Wales Live Whatsapp community now<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">Under pressure from <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailypost.co.uk\/all-about\/anglesey-council\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Anglesey Council<\/a>, which issued two second enforcement warnings, Bulmer Leisure made three attempts to secure the lawfulness of its Bay View extension. The first addresses a \u201cmaterial change of use of land\u201d from open countryside to holiday use through the \u201cunauthorised siting of six static caravans\u201d. This also applies to associated engineering works including \u201cland level changes\u201d, access construction, and hardstanding installations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">A council spokesperson said: \u201cThese developments were carried out without planning permission and have resulted in significant visual harm to the rural and coastal character of the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">The second notice relates to a breach of condition attached to the extension\u2019s historic planning permission in 1995. The council has given Bulmer Leisure 12 months to remove the lodges and associated works, and 18 months for full land restoration, including the reinstatement of land to its original levels.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/0_\u00a325m-investment-at-Silver-Bay-Holiday-Village-at-Rhoscolyn.jpg\" alt=\"The site's leisure complex\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The site&#8217;s leisure complex<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">According to the council, the work carried out at Silver Bay was considered contrary to several policies within the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailypost.co.uk\/all-about\/anglesey\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Anglesey<\/a> and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailypost.co.uk\/all-about\/gwynedd\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Gwynedd<\/a> Joint Local Development Plan, as well as national planning guidance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">A spokesperson added: \u201cBoth enforcement actions highlight the council\u2019s concerns about the detrimental impact on the AONB and an adjacent Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"northwales\">Bulmer Leisure has been approached for a comment about the notices and their implications for affected lodge owners.
