Yes, you read that right. The affable Brit, the acceptable face of upper-class twittery on Fresh Meat, the doofus face of teaching on Bad Education and a cheery presence on a thousand and one chat and quiz shows, is an absolute psychopath in Prime Video\u2019s new six-part thriller, <\/a>Malice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A sharply observed, blackly funny and clammily gripping Highsmithian potboiler, it takes a helping of The Talented Mr Ripley, a serve of White Lotus and a sprinkle of Saltburn and cooks up a sun-kissed and startling revenge yarn from them. It\u2019s full of hairpin turns and boasts a cast of prestige TV legends, including The X-Files\u2019 David Duchovny and Game of Thrones\u2019 Carice van Houten. <\/p>\n

What is Malice on Prime about?<\/p>\n

The handiwork of Rev. co-creator James Wood, Malice follows the wealthy Tanner family to the Greek island of Paros for one of their routine vacations. Duchovny is the family\u2019s alpha-dog patriarch, Jamie Tanner, a ruthless American venture capitalist who likes to get what he wants whatever the cost; van Houten is his Dutch wife Nat, a fashion designer whose business venture has been underwritten by Jamie\u2019s money.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

When the Tanners\u2019 friends Jules and Damien fly out with their kids\u2019 accomplished classics tutor and manny, Adam (Whitehall), in tow, and their own nanny falls sick with food poisoning, the Tanners decide to poach Adam and employ him when they get back to their massive west London townhouse. Unwittingly, they\u2019ve invited this manipulative, scheming cuckoo into their nest. The fallout will be devastating for all concerned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Where was Malice filmed?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The series opens in a US airport but Malice has two main settings: the sweltering Greek islands and west London\u2019s chillier temples of privilege. Which makes it one of those rare shows where the filming locations and the settings are pretty much one and the same. Here\u2019s what to look out for.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Tanners\u2019 London home was filmed in Richmond Hill<\/p>\n

The wintry yin to Paxos\u2019s azure yang, London hosted the production\u2019s shoot in February 2024. The hero location is the Tanner family home in west London. Both the interiors and exteriors were filmed in the heart of Ted Lasso country, leafy Richmond Hill.<\/p>\n

The exteriors of the venture capital firm that Jamie set up and runs were filmed close to the historic Shepherd Market<\/a>, once a notorious fleshpot, now more of a sophisticated haunt for Mayfair financiers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nat and Jules meet up in Battersea Park\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two besties have a lunchtime coffee and a chat about Adam on a Battersea park bench in episode 4.<\/p>\n

Adam disposes of some evidence at Chiswick Draw Dock<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

As his vengeance scheme ramps up, Adam takes his ramp down to the Thames in Chiswick to remove any evidence of one of his crimes. It all takes place in broad daylight with the manny backing up his car to try to keep his actions as discreet as possible.<\/p>\n

Malice Filming Locations in Greece

The Tanners\u2019 Greek villa is the Paros Residence in Greece<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malice is bookended by episodes filmed on the Greek island of Paros<\/a>. It\u2019s here that the Tanner family has its holiday villa, a luxurious, modernist home with swimming pools and paths down to the beach. The actual location is an eight-bedroom minimalist complex<\/a> built in 2021 \u2013 just the kind of spot Jamie Tanner would pick to flip burgers at during his rare downtime.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The wedding scene was filmed in Kostos Village, Paros<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jack Whitehall gets to strut his stuff in episode 2 when the family and their manny attend a local wedding on the island. The celebrations stretch into the night and at one point, Adam is called on to show off his Greek folk dancing skills. Those scenes were shot in the small village of Kostos and its bleached white church of Agios Panteleimonas, named after legendary 18th century teacher Athanasios Parios.<\/p>\n

The family takes a boat trip from Aliki Harbour, Paros<\/strong><\/p>\n

The island\u2019s picturesque port was used for several scenes in which the family of holidaymakers set off for a boat trip around the island. Look out for Adam\u2019s octopus shopping (and bashing) exploits in episode 1, a tentacled metaphor for what\u2019s to come. <\/p>\n

Whitehall is Adam Healey, the intelligent, socially adept Brit who inveigles his way into the lives of the Tanner family, venture capitalist husband James (David Duchovny), his fashion designer wife Nat (Carice van Houten) and their kids Kit (Tolkien\u2019s Harry Gilby), April (Teddie Allen) and Dexter (Phoenix Laroche).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Batman Begins\u2019 Christine Adams plays Nat\u2019s best friend Jules, while Spooks\u2019 Raza Jaffrey is her increasingly suspicious husband Damien.<\/p>\n
