The affable Brit, the acceptable face of upper-class twittery on Fresh Meat, the doofus face of teaching on Bad Education and a cheery presence on a thousand and one chat and quiz shows, is an absolute psychopath in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/news\/malice-the-full-tracklist-for-jack-whitehalls-dark-new-thriller-series-111425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prime Video\u2019s new six-part thriller, <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/news\/malice-the-full-tracklist-for-jack-whitehalls-dark-new-thriller-series-111425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Malice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A sharply observed, blackly funny and clammily gripping Highsmithian potboiler, it takes a helping of The Talented Mr Ripley, a serve of White Lotus and a sprinkle of Saltburn and cooks up a sun-kissed and startling revenge yarn from them. Duchovny is the family\u2019s alpha-dog patriarch, Jamie Tanner, a ruthless American venture capitalist who likes to get what he wants whatever the cost; van Houten is his Dutch wife Nat, a fashion designer whose business venture has been underwritten by Jamie\u2019s money.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When the Tanners\u2019 friends Jules and Damien fly out with their kids\u2019 accomplished classics tutor and manny, Adam (Whitehall), in tow, and their own nanny falls sick with food poisoning, the Tanners decide to poach Adam and employ him when they get back to their massive west London townhouse. Unwittingly, they\u2019ve invited this manipulative, scheming cuckoo into their nest. Which makes it one of those rare shows where the filming locations and the settings are pretty much one and the same. The hero location is the Tanner family home in west London. It\u2019s here that the Tanner family has its holiday villa, a luxurious, modernist home with swimming pools and paths down to the beach. The celebrations stretch into the night and at one point, Adam is called on to show off his Greek folk dancing skills.
