Since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/adam-driver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adam Driver<\/a> revealed in an interview that Disney shut down a spin-off idea about Ben Solo, fans have been actively campaigning for the project. Although several weeks have passed since the initial report, interest in the canceled film seems to have only grown.<\/p>\n<p>Demand for Star Wars Ben Solo movie reaches the streets and skies<\/p>\n<p>A plane flew over the Burbank headquarters of Disney on Thursday at 11 a.m. local time. The plane had a banner trailing it, reading, \u201cShareholders Want The Hunt for Ben Solo.\u201d Reportedly, The Hunt for Ben Solo was the planned name of the canceled project. Soderbergh developed a story with screenwriter Rebecca Blunt. When Lucasfilm heard the pitch, they expressed interest, prompting the team to bring in Scott Z. Burns to pen a script. Driver described the resulting screenplay as \u201cone of the coolest (expletive) scripts I had ever been a part of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The team then took the script to Lucasfilm. \u201cThey loved the idea,\u201d Driver added. \u201cThey totally understood our angle and why we were doing it.\u201d However, when they approached Disney, executives Bob Iger and Alan Bergman turned it down as \u201cthey didn\u2019t see how Ben Solo was alive.\u201d Driver continued, \u201cAnd that was that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ben Solo \/ Kylo Ren remains a popular character among sections of Star Wars fans, and these enthusiasts have since gone to great lengths to show Disney their interest in the project. This includes fake missing person posters featuring Driver\u2019s character appearing in New York City and Los Angeles. The banner seems to be the most recent of these attempts.
