\u2018all-out\u2019 bin strike rumbles on towards its third month, the city council has made another change to its tip visit rules.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The city has five Household Recycling Centres (HRCs), where residents can bring their rubbish as well as their recyclables, and from Wednesday (April 30) two of these are to go booking free.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Residents in the city, who have suffered bin collection misery since January, and severe disruption since Unite the Union members went on an all-out strike from Tuesday, March 11, have taken to heading to the city\u2019s tips to dispose of their black bags.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ BirminghamLive reported a <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/tried-book-birmingham-tip-slot-31320348\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">bit of a north south divide when trying to book visits <\/a>to the city\u2019s recycling centres last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In a bid to help residents dispose of rubbish, or recycling, which the city council is not currently collecting, the authority is making visits to two sites booking-free.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">These are the Norris Way recycling centre in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/sutton-coldfield\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sutton Coldfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">And the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/castle-bromwich\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Castle Bromwich<\/a> recycling centre in Tameside Drive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The booking system is to be \u2018temporarily removed\u2019 from both sites from Wednesday, April 30.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_JS365906491.jpg\" class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Residents will be able to visit the Sutton Coldfield site and its Castle Bromwich counterpart anytime during their extended opening hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">For both sites these are Monday to Friday from 7am to 9pm, or on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 6pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Slots at the city\u2019s three other household recycling centres will still need to be booked in advance but they too have extended opening hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh Lifford Lane is open from 10am to 10pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">While both the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/perry-barr\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Perry Barr<\/a> HRC in Holford Drive and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/tyseley\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Tyseley<\/a> one in James Road are open 7am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm at weekends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">At those three sites there are restrictions on bookings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">They cannot be made less than two hours before anyone wants to go to the centres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Slots can also not be booked more than three days before their visit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">And only two bookings can be made at the same time \u2013 which can be for the same day or week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Once two visits have been booked, the next booking can only be made the day after the first of those visits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">This can be a driving licence, utility bill or a council tax bill, either paper or digital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Bookings can be made for household waste only \u2013 not business waste.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Meanwhile the mobile household waste centre service &#8211; bin lorries going out to different locations in the city each day for residents to take their waste to &#8211; <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/major-birmingham-bin-strike-mobile-31520556\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">are being &#8216;paused&#8217;<\/a>, as those crews tackle waste built up at grot spots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">And <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/exact-date-next-bin-strike-31508422\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">talks are set to take place this week with ACAS<\/a> the (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) as an intermediary, in a bid to end the bin dispute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">With warm weather
