Pensioners were left out in the cold after travelling to the branch after the publicly-owned firm announced the branch would be the first to reopen after 10 closed without warning across Merseyside on November 5.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The closed branches are Childwall, Hunts Cross, Monument Place, Penny Lane,<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/toxteth\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Toxteth<\/a>, Tuebrook,<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/walton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Walton<\/a> Vale, Watts Lane,<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/formby\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Formby<\/a>, and<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/woolton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> Woolton<\/a>. Post Office Ltd is still refusing to elaborate on the \u201coperational reasons\u201d it blames for the closures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The ECHO visited Walton Vale Post Office last week, and spoke to Zaid Al-Dheleai, who works at Walton Vale Local Convenience, which houses Walton Vale Post Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The Post Office desks were dark and quiet, with the shop also quiet after seeing a drop in passing trade. Zaid said: \u201cThe Post Office is always busy, the shop is quiet. A lot of people rely on the Post Office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Zaid said he had been told &#8220;computer issues&#8221; were to blame for the closure. It will now open on Monday, November 17 at 9am. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary, unplanned, closure of this branch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">\u201cIn addition, we are pleased to announce that Walton Vale will re-open mid afternoon on Monday, November 17.
