CrossCountry cannot guarantee that you will arrive at your destination if you travel today. Tickets from today can be used for travel tomorrow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">Trains to and from Plymouth and Penzance &#8211; the end of the line for many journeys through the South West &#8211; face delays and many have already been cancelled, according to the CrossCountry journey planner.<\/p>\n<p>Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">Meanwhile, Great Western Railway has also issued a do not travel warning on the following routes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\" publication=\"bristolpost\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Paddington and South Wales<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Exeter and Barnstaple<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Hereford and Worcester Shrub Hill<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">said journeys to Bristol Parkway, Bristol Temple Meads and Exeter may be cancelled or delayed. Further disruption is expected for anyone travelling to North Devon, as the line between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple is expected to be closed until Monday, November 17.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">National Rail has said: &#8220;There are <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/weather.metoffice.gov.uk\/warnings-and-advice\/uk-warnings#?date=2025-11-11\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">yellow and amber weather warnings<\/a> associated with Storm Claudia in place today (Friday 14 November) and tomorrow (Saturday 15 November), across parts of England.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">The Met Office has issued both yellow and amber <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/weather\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">weather<\/a> warnings in the South West. Further heavy rain and disruption are expected into the night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">An amber weather warning has been in effect since 6am on Friday, November 14 and is set to end at 6am on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">The Met Office said: &#8220;Storm Claudia is expected to bring heavy rain during Friday into early Saturday that may lead to some flooding and disruption.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">Meanwhile, elsewhere in the South West, a yellow weather warning has been issued over the same timeframe. It covers around half of Devon, Somerset, Bristol and Gloucestershire, as well as extending to the rest of the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">Met Office Chief Forecaster Rebekah Hicks, said: \u201cStorm Claudia is currently bringing intense rainfall across parts of England and Wales. We\u2019ve recorded 81.8mm of rainfall already and the intense downpours will continue into the evening before weakening in the early hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"bristolpost\">&#8220;Impacted areas will continue to see increasingly lighter rainfall through Saturday morning before eventually turning drier through the afternoon and into Sunday.
