href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/news\/25438992.5-key-actions-scottish-government-taking-israel-gaza\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced by First Minister John Swinney in September<\/a> as part of a package of measures to help address the \u201ccatastrophic\u201d humanitarian crisis in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/topics\/Gaza\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gaza<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/topics\/scottish-government\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scottish Government<\/a> said the money will support the delivery of a number of vital services, including lifesaving health services, nutrition, emergency shelter, water and sanitation, protection services and education support.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) fund helps organise the humanitarian response by international and national organisations to Home Secretary on Cameron Barracks plan<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Dr Ramiz Alakbarov, UN humanitarian co-ordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, said: \u201cScotland\u2019s generous support to the Occupied Palestinian Territories Humanitarian Fund is a lifeline for Palestinians facing immense hardship.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThis solidarity from the Scottish Government and people enables us to deliver critical, life-saving assistance to those who need it most.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cWe are deeply grateful for this meaningful contribution.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  External Affairs Secretary Angus Robertson said the funding comes as the Government looks to support the \u201cscaling-up\u201d of the humanitarian response in Gaza.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic and the organisations on the ground will only be able to provide desperately-needed assistance if the ceasefire holds and aid is allowed to enter,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cI am also pleased to report that following a request from Unicef, 10 child patients from Gaza are now receiving treatment from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenational.scot\/topics\/nhs-scotland\/?ref=au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NHS Scotland<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThis is part of our broader humanitarian response to the crisis ensuring vulnerable children receive the specialist medical
