Edinburgh police locked down a busy road on Friday evening after an incident involving a ‘van and bike’.<\/p>\n
The incident, which took place around 9pm, saw emergency services tape off Clermiston Road between Rannoch Road and Drum Brae Drive on November 14.<\/p>\n
Although the exact nature of the incident is unclear at this time, one passer-by claims debris from the bike was strewn across the road and a white van appeared to be damaged.<\/p>\n
The bike was lying in the middle of the junction. A number of cordons were put in place.<\/p>\n
Around half a dozen officers were at the scene for a number of hours carrying out investigations.<\/p>\n
Another concerned local said: “Police have locked down the street from outside the Leonardo Hotel. It looks like it’s a dirt bike on the ground and a white van in front of it.<\/p>\n
“You can see police taking pictures, they also have a camera set up. They were moving the white van as I went past at 11.30pm.<\/p>\n

It looks really serious.<\/p>\n “They have pretty much had a lockdown for a couple of hours now, and they are starting to move the vehicles.<\/p>\n “It’s hard to see if it’s a heavy-duty mountain bike or a dirt bike, and it’s lying there in the middle of the junction.
