Bookish’s Mark Gatiss has written plenty of Doctor Who episodes in his time, as well as starring in a few here and there, but there was one he wrote for David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor that never got released.<\/p>\n

However, he’s now teased that it might still see the light of day, but in a different form.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Radio Times<\/a>, the actor explained that he wrote an episode called ‘The Suicide Exhibition,’ which was “on the verge of production for a while in the late 2000s” but never came to fruition.<\/p>\n

“[I wrote] two drafts \u2013 one set in the First World War, then Nazis,” he said. “I just moved a war on.”<\/p>\n

He also stated that the story was set in the British Museum, and described it as “a sort of Indiana Jones-type story” that he thinks is “rather good”.<\/p>\n

He’s not the only one who believes that the story has potential, and he teased: “Big Finish has expressed an interest.”<\/p>\n

While he says he still has a copy of the story, things have “all gone very quiet” on the Big Finish discussion front. “I’m waiting for that emergency phone call!” he added.<\/p>\n

To be fair to Big Finish, the audio drama makers have plenty of Doctor Who projects already in the pipeline.<\/p>\n

To name just a few, there are ongoing series following Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor and Mandip Gill’s Yaz<\/a>, and Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor and Billie Piper’s Rose<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, back in May, most recent Doctor Ncuti Gatwa regenerated into Billie Piper<\/a> in a massive end-of-season twist.<\/p>\n

We’ll find out more details when the show returns in 2026 for a Christmas special<\/a>. While this year’s festive season will see<\/a> the spin-off The War Between the Land and Sea air.<\/p>\n
