Speaking via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fotbollskanalen.se\/sverige\/potter-bekraftar-avbrack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Fotboll Skanlen<\/a> on Friday, the former West Ham manager claimed that Isak is not even ready to start Saturday\u2019s clash with the Swiss.<\/p>\n<p>       When will Alexander Isak hit form for Liverpool?  <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cEvery Liverpool player and fan knows that when Alexander Isak hits form, or whenever it clicks, he\u2019s going to be a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adebayo Akinfenwa on Alexander Isak<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/GettyImages-2245343622-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alexander Isak of Liverpool during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Liverpool at Etihad Stadium.\" class=\"wp-image-270942\" \/>Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt \u2013 AMA\/Getty Images     <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s not ready to play two 90-minute games in four days, so we have to be smart and use him well,\u201d Potter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is not ready to start tomorrow. \u201cI don\u2019t want to talk too much about details or the starting eleven, but I think the best thing for Alex is to help us tomorrow from the bench.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Isak could be ready to play more football once he returns to Liverpool in a week\u2019s time, but it feels more likely that the Reds will have to continue managing his minutes for at least a little while longer.<\/p>\n<p>Isak struggles set to continue into festive period<\/p>\n<p>Although there is little question that Isak\u2019s short time at Liverpool so far has been disappointing, that does not mean that he can\u2019t still come good.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Slot \u2013 and Isak himself \u2013 will no doubt be frustrated at this latest turn of events, which could stop Liverpool truly hitting their straps over Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>With so many festive fixtures on the calendar, Liverpool need their best players available and ready to play every few days.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, it does not look as though Isak can be counted upon in that respect. <\/p>\n<p>There was always a danger that the Swede\u2019s fragile injury record might come back to haunt Liverpool after they paid such a huge sum for him. But they\u2019ll just have to console themselves in that Potter is doing the right thing for Isak in the long-term.
