From World Cup<\/a> qualifiers to friendlies, several\u00a0FC Bayern<\/a> players were in action with their national teams on Friday evening.\u00a0fcbayern.com\u00a0rounds up the results:<\/p>\n

Germany picked up a crucial 2-0 win in Luxembourg in their penultimate World Cup<\/a> qualifier with four Bayern<\/a> players in the starting line-up.\u00a0Jonathan Tah<\/a>\u00a0led Julian Nagelsmann\u2019s side as captain for the first time in the absence of\u00a0Joshua Kimmich<\/a>, who according to the DFB had to sit out because of a bruised ankle.\u00a0Serge Gnabry<\/a>, Aleksandar Pavlovi\u0107<\/a>\u00a0and Leon Goretzka<\/a>\u00a0were also included in the German line-up, who struggled for a long time to live up to their status as favourites. It took a second-half brace from Nick Woltemade<\/a> to overcome the plucky hosts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jonathan Tah captained the German team in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a great honour and means a lot to me,\u201d said Tah after his first game as Germany skipper. \u201cBut it\u2019s not about me, it\u2019s about us qualifying for the World Cup<\/a>.\u201d Thanks to Friday\u2019s victory, Germany are now well placed to seal qualification in their final group game against Slovakia on Monday (20:45 CET) in Leipzig. A draw against their closest challengers will be enough to book the DFB Team\u2019s ticket to the USA, Canada and Mexico next year.<\/p>\n

Josip Stani\u0161i\u0107<\/a>, meanwhile, already has a World Cup<\/a> place in the bag with Croatia. The Bayern<\/a> defender played the full 90 minutes at the back as the Croatians beat Faroe Islands 3-1 in Rijeka with goals from\u00a0Josko\u00a0Gvardiol (23\u2019), Petar\u00a0Musa (57\u2019) and Mislav Or\u0161i\u0107 (70\u2019). Croatia, who now have an unassailable lead at the top of Group L, visit Montenegro in their final qualifier on Monday (20:45).<\/p>\n

South Korea secured their place in the World Cup<\/a> some time ago and are now preparing for next year’s finals with a series of friendlies.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Friday,\u00a0Minjae Kim<\/a>\u00a0and the South Korean national team celebrated a 2-0 win over Bolivia. The Bayern<\/a> defender played the full 90 minutes of the home match in Daejon, where Heung-Min Son and Gue-Sung Cho scored the goals in the second half. Minjae and Co play another friendly against Ghana in Seoul on Tuesday (11:00 CET).<\/p>\n

Bayern youngsters\u00a0Tom Bischof<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Lennart Karl<\/a>\u00a0were the stars of the show for the German U21 team in their 6-0 thrashing of Malta in EURO qualifying. Captain Bischof scored a hat-trick of long-distance goals, while U21 debutant Karl netted a brace. Hoffenheim\u2019s\u00a0Muhammed Damar scored the other goal to make it 6-0.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are two incredible players, as we saw again today. They scored five dream goals,\u201d\u00a0praised teammate Nicol\u00f2 Tresoldi, who recently faced the pair in Bayern’s 4-0 win over Club Brugge<\/a> in the Champions League. Despite the clear victory, the German U21s remain in second place in qualifying Group F with nine points from four games, three points behind leaders Greece. Next Tuesday (18:00), Bischof and Co will continue their campaign against Georgia in Tbilisi.<\/p>\n
