Passengers travelling to and from Birmingham Airport (BHX) by monorail have been warned to expect ‘extended wait times’ starting from today.<\/p>\n

BHX<\/a> says its Air-Rail Link monorail service to Birmingham<\/a> International Train Station will be cut to one shuttle until February 2026.<\/p>\n

The airport <\/a>said this is due to “essential planned maintenance”.<\/p>\n

The monorail, which is a free service, usually operates two shuttles on a dual track with journeys taking around two-minutes.<\/p>\n

BHX<\/a> said the monorail will be operating every six minutes from 3.30am to 12.30am each day.<\/p>\n

However the airport warned passengers could face delays at peak-times and recommended allowing extra time for journeys.<\/p>\n

It’s set to cause disruption for travellers arriving by train, which is a popular method of arriving to the airport.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for BHX <\/a>said on X today (November 15): “The Air-Rail Link will be operating on one-shuttle until February 2026 for essential planned maintenance.<\/p>\n

“There will be a shuttle available approximately every six minutes, 03:30 – 00:30 daily.<\/p>\n

“This may lead to extended waits at peak-times.”<\/p>\n
