The auction is scheduled for Monday in Neuss, near D\u00fcsseldorf.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/auschwitz-did-not-begin-in-auschwitz\/a-47257976\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Auschwitz Committee (IAC)<\/a> has urged the Felzmann auction house to cancel the event.<\/p>\n<p>IAC Executive Vice President Christoph Heubner called the auction &#8220;cynical and shameless.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Heubner said in a statement that the history of <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/oldest-known-holocaust-survivor-dies-aged-113\/a-71777928\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holocaust survivors<\/a> was &#8220;being exploited for commercial gain.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Documents relating to persecution and the Holocaust belong to the families of those who were persecuted,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They should be displayed in museums or in exhibitions at memorial sites and not be degraded to objects of trade.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What is being auctioned?<\/p>\n<p>Felzmann listed a trove of documents in its auction titled &#8220;System of Terror Vol II,&#8221; with items dating from 1933 to 1945.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Among the various items are Nazi documents on a forced sterilization carried out at the Dachau concentration camp.<\/p>\n<p>The auction includes records of companies forcefully sold to Nazis, as well as identification documents and passports of Jews who managed to flee persecution to Chile and Argentina.
