A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a collision<\/a> involving an e-bike and a van in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

Emergency services<\/a> were called to Clermiston Road in the capital after the alarm was raised at around 8.15pm on Friday, November 14.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old man riding the motorcycle was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with what are described as serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Officers<\/a> from Police Scotland are now appealing for information about the crash, which involved a Mercedes Vito van and a black Sur-Ron electric motorcycle.<\/p>\n

A passer-by earlier told how<\/a> debris from the bike was left strewn across the road and a white van appeared to be damaged.<\/p>\n

It’s understood the bike was seen lying in the middle of the junction as a result.<\/p>\n

Police<\/a> attended and a number of cordons were put in place.<\/p>\n

Around half a dozen officers were at the scene for a number of hours carrying out investigations.<\/p>\n

Sergeant Paul Ewing said: “Our inquiries are ongoing, and I would ask anyone who has yet to speak to police to get in touch and review any dash-cam footage for anything that may assist with our inquiries.”<\/p>\n

The road was closed for investigations following the crash and reopened at around 11.45pm.<\/p>\n
