Sir Alex Ferguson<\/a> has praised Manchester United<\/a>\u2019s decision to sign Senne Lammens<\/a> and believes the goalkeeper has been \u2018outstanding\u2019 since joining Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n United were in the market for a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window but after failing to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa<\/a>, the club opted to bring in Lammens in an \u00a318 million deal from Royal Antwerp.<\/p>\n Lammens had made just 52 appearances in the Belgian Pro League before his move to the Premier League<\/a> and United had faced questions over whether the 23-year-old had enough experience to immediately become Amorim\u2019s first-choice goalkeeper.<\/p>\n However, Lammens has looked solid in his first five appearances for United so far and Ferguson has also been impressed with the club\u2019s summer signing.<\/p>\n When asked if he is happy with United\u2019s recent run of form, Ferguson told Raceday RTV: \u2018Well, they are, the signs\u2026 the manager has had some good signs.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Manchester United every day\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter. <\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your team in the link so we can send you football news tailored to you. <\/p>\n \u2018Particularly the goalkeeper has been outstanding, he\u2019s only played three or four games and he\u2019s looking really good.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018Of course, Mbeumo and Cunha, the new players from Wolves<\/a> and Brentford<\/a>, they\u2019ve added to it. I hope the manager gets a bit of success because at United you need to have success. The signs are getting better.<\/p>\n \u2018I think back-to-back wins is something teams like United should always expect. But having gone through a cycle where the improvement has to come by waiting and being patient, they are enjoying it now.\u2019<\/p>\n Speaking earlier this month, United\u2019s director of football, Jason Wilcox, revealed that the club\u2019s former goalkeeping coach, Tony Coton, who now works as a scout, played a key role in bringing Lammens to Old Trafford.<\/p>\n \u2018Tony Coton was putting Senne on my radar 12 months ago, and he was relentless with it,\u2019 Wilcox said.<\/p>\n \u2018This guy is going to be a top signing for us, and he has started well, but he has got to keep it going. He is very reflective, and he is very professional with his approach.<\/p>\n \u2018We were always looking at goalkeepers who have huge potential.
