A driver ended up crashing and getting bitten by a police dog following a dramatic chase in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police<\/a> say the driver was behind the wheel of a stolen Volkswagen Golf R.<\/p>\n

Officers <\/a>spotted the car being driven in the Sheldon area of the city before a pursuit began.<\/p>\n

The stolen Golf R was then stung by officers <\/a>– but this did not deter the driver.<\/p>\n

He then crashed the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.<\/p>\n

The dramatic chase took place in Sheldon -Credit:WMP<\/p>\n

However the suspect was found hiding by the police <\/a>dog team nearby.<\/p>\n

He was bitten during the incident before being arrested.<\/p>\n

The incident was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by WMP Traffic yesterday morning (November 15), which said: “#RoadCrimeTeam officers saw this stolen VW Golf R in Sheldon where it was pursued.<\/p>\n

“During the pursuit it was stung by #ANPRInterceptors before the driver crashed & decamped.<\/p>\n
