The track was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sam-fender-and-olivia-dean-officially-release-rein-me-in-duet-3871433\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">later officially released<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in the show, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/watch-sam-fender-deliver-pro-palestine-speech-at-london-stadium-show-it-breaks-my-heart-3868060\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fender made an impassioned speech in support of Palestine and the people of Gaza<\/a>, saying: \u201cThey\u2019ve been subjected to a genocide. It has to stop, and we need to do everything that we can. Free Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also joined by the Easington Colliery Brass Band, who appeared on \u2018Remember My Name\u2019. Upon the release of \u2018People Watching\u2019, the band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/easington-colliery-brass-band-kept-their-contribution-to-sam-fenders-people-watching-secret-for-over-two-years-3844794\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed that they\u2019d kept their contribution a secret for two years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Live at London Stadium was directed by Toby L &amp; Kit Monteith and is produced by Up The Game. You can watch the full film below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Last month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sam-fender-wins-mercury-prize-2025-for-people-watching-3899105\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fender won the Mercury Prize for \u2018People Watching\u2019<\/a>, beating records by the likes of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/pulp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pulp<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/wolf-alice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wolf Alice<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/fontaines-d-c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fontaines D.C.<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/cmat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CMAT<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sam-fender-fans-react-to-his-mercury-prize-win-the-home-town-boy-won-it-3899654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fans on social media have since reacted to Fender\u2019s victory<\/a>, which they dubbed a \u201chometown\u201d win.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sam-fender-donates-25000-mercury-prize-money-to-music-venue-trust-3907374\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fender announced that he had donated his winnings<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicvenuetrust.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Music Venue Trust<\/a>\u00a0(MVT), while highlighting the importance of \u201cstruggling\u201d small gig spaces in the UK.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sam-fender-donates-25000-mercury-prize-money-to-music-venue-trust-3907374\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In a statement<\/a>, Fender recognised the vital role that grassroots venues had played in his early career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t be doing what I am doing today if it wasn\u2019t for all the gigs I played around the North East, and beyond, when I was starting out,\u201d he said. \u201cThese venues are legendary, but they are struggling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018People Watching\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sam-fenders-people-watching-earns-biggest-uk-opening-week-for-british-act-since-harry-styles-harrys-house-3842384\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">garnered the biggest opening week in the UK for a British act<\/a>\u00a0since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/harry-styles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harry Styles<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/harry-styles-new-album-harrys-house-3226209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Harry House\u2019<\/a>\u00a0in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>NME\u00a0gave \u2018People Watching\u2019\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/sam-fender-people-watching-review-3840019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a four-star review upon its release in February<\/a>, writing, \u201cFeeling existential, uprooted and disconnected from his old working-class life thanks to his rapid rise to fame, the British guitar hero channels it all into his gorgeous third album.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of Elton John collab \u2018Talk To You\u2019 being released,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/sam-fender-chats-to-elton-john-about-talk-to-you-reveals-plans-for-next-album-ive-got-a-load-of-other-songs-3899533\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fender told the musician that he has already started thinking about the follow-up to \u2018People Watching\u2019<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m going to make another album, I think,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve got a load of other songs, so I want to make another record.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sam Fender has shared his \u2018Live At London Stadium\u2019 concert film.
