Alexander Isak has expressed his disappointment with his season being disrupted by injury following his record-breaking \u00a3125m move to Liverpool<\/a>. The forward forced through a move from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day<\/a> but things haven’t gone according to plan.<\/p>\n The Sweden international spent most of the summer training solo and didn’t feature for the Magpies during pre-season or in the early stages of the Premier League<\/a> season. He was therefore left playing catch-up after his move to Anfield in early September.<\/p>\n Isak has had a slow start at Liverpool, netting just once in his first eight outings for the club. Despite coming on as a substitute in the 62nd minute, he couldn’t prevent his country from suffering a 4-1 loss away to Switzerland, which leaves them bottom of their qualification group<\/a>.<\/p>\n After the defeat, Isak gave the latest update following his return from injury and is eager to regain his form for both club and country.<\/p>\n “It was about half an hour. It felt okay,” he told Sportbladet<\/a>. “I feel like the reaction was good after the match in my body.<\/p>\n “Hopefully I can play properly in the next match (against Slovenia on Tuesday). It’s always frustrating when you’re injured. Regardless of whether it’s one match or more. It’s always worst for the player himself.<\/p>\n “It hasn’t been optimal. But when I’m on the field, I don’t give myself any excuses. I always want to play my game and perform.<\/p>\n “But yes, it’s hard to be away and not be able to help and contribute. Now I’m back and I’m positive. There’s not much that’s easy in football. But with experience you learn to deal with things.<\/p>\n “That’s how it is with injuries and all that. You learn to deal with it and get back on track the right way.”<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Sweden boss Graham Potter revealed in his own post-match press briefing that he plans to give Isak extended playing time against Slovenia following his comeback from injury.<\/p>\n “The plan was for Isak to play 30 minutes,” he said. “It wasn’t an easy position in the game to get into.<\/p>\n “Hopefully, we’ll see more of him on Tuesday.
