Avengers: Doomsday has officially started shooting in the UK, and the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony, have shared the first official behind-the-scenes photo from the movie.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Showcasing a director’s chair emblazoned with the words “Victor Von Doom,” it appears Robert Downey Jr. will be among the first on set to shoot his scenes as Doctor Doom. Is it us, or does that brown panelling look an awful lot like the X-Mansion?\u00a0<\/p>\n
It certainly fits the aesthetic of that location, and if we’re right, it means we’re getting scenes featuring Doom and the original big screen X-Men. That will be just part of the fun when it comes to seeing how things play out in this Multiversal adventure.<\/p>\n
It remains to be seen how often the Russos will keep us updated with photos like this one from the Avengers: Doomsday set. Secrecy will likely be paramount for the Russos while shooting the upcoming blockbuster, so this will have to keep us going.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Russo Brothers are MCU veterans after helming\u00a0Captain America: The Winter Soldier,\u00a0Captain America: Civil War,\u00a0Avengers: Infinity War, and\u00a0Avengers: Endgame.<\/p>\n
Despite their struggles away from the\u00a0franchise\u2014The Electric State\u00a0received a largely negative response from critics\u00a0and\u00a0film fans\u2014it seems fair to say that\u00a0Doomsday\u00a0and\u00a0Secret Wars\u00a0are in safe hands. During a recent interview, the duo\u00a0weighed in on the likely runtimes for both movies.<\/p>\n
“If I were a betting man,”<\/strong>\u00a0Joe shared,\u00a0“I would say the first one is two and a half, and the second one’s three hours.”<\/strong>\u00a0It seems we now have the current goal for the Multiverse Saga’s two-part finale, likely based loosely on where they’re going with the scripts for\u00a0Doomsday\u00a0and\u00a0Secret Wars.\u00a0<\/p>\n When it was put to the filmmakers\u00a0that set photos could spoil some of the biggest moments for fans, Joe said,\u00a0“We\u2019re pretty good about shutting that down.”<\/strong>\u00a0Anthony added,\u00a0“We’ve sort of strategized to hopefully be effective with that.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Joe later confirmed that\u00a0“quite a bit”\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a0Avengers: Doomsday\u00a0is being shot on soundstages.\u00a0“We don\u2019t want people getting photographs, so we are being pretty stringent,”\u00a0<\/strong>he explained before Anthony chimed in to say,\u00a0“The location work we are doing, we have picked those locations with that in mind, as well.”<\/strong><\/p>\n The filmmakers also revealed that they’re gearing up for\u00a0“a standard-length shoot”<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0“six months for each of them”<\/strong>\u00a0currently pencilled in.<\/p>\n Avengers: Doomsday\u00a0is set to be released in May 2026, with\u00a0Avengers: Secret Wars\u00a0scheduled\u00a0to arrive in May 2027.<\/p>\n
