\n\tCould FFC chair Brendan Carr<\/a> have his eyes set on his next late-night target?<\/p>\n

\n\tNearly two months after ABC temporarily suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! over a comment host Jimmy Kimmel made during his Sept. 15 episode drew heat online, including\u00a0from Carr, it appears he\u2019s now keeping an eye on Seth Meyers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Saturday, Carr reposted one of President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s Truth Social posts, calling for Meyers, the host of NBC\u2019s Late Night, to be fired.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNBC\u2019s Seth Meyers is suffering from an incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). He was viewed last night in an uncontrollable rage, likely due to the fact that his \u201cshow\u201d is a Ratings DISASTER. Aside from everything else, Meyers has no talent, and NBC should fire him, IMMEDIATELY!\u201d Trump wrote<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tCarr didn\u2019t add any additional comments to his repost on X, but the following day, he shared that he was visiting the president over the weekend. \u201cGreat to be with President Trump this weekend. President Trump\u2019s policies are unleashing a new wave of growth and innovation in communities across the country,\u201d the FCC chair wrote<\/a> in another post on X, alongside a photo of him and Trump standing together.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter has reached out to the FCC and NBC for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn September, Carr ignited a free speech firestorm when he appeared to threaten<\/a>\u00a0the licenses of ABC affiliates that broadcast\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live!\u00a0during an interview on a conservative YouTube show. The FCC chair\u2019s threats came after Kimmel made controversial comments about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d the comedian said on his Sept. 15 episode.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs a result, ABC suspended\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a> for several days after two major owners of local TV stations and ABC affiliates \u2014 Nexstar and Sinclair Broadcast Group \u2014 said they would\u00a0preempt\u00a0Kimmel\u2019s show<\/a> due to his remarks.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump was among some Republicans\u00a0celebrating Kimmel\u2019s brief suspension<\/a>\u00a0from the air, while other politicians and Hollywood notables\u00a0condemned\u00a0ABC\u2019s decision<\/a>, calling it an attack on free speech. Republican Sen. Ted Cruz also criticized Carr\u2019s comments at the time, calling them \u201cdangerous as hell.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCarr later denied that he meant to threaten affiliate TV licenses with his remarks.
