In the 2024\/2025 season, Spain remained the European Union’s top supplier of aubergines, supplying over 60% of the region’s consumption. It was followed by the Netherlands, Germany, and Turkey.<\/p>\n

According to a Hortoinfo report based on data from Eurostat’s statistical service, specifically from the Integrated Tariff of the European Communities under TARIC code 070930, these figures show that the EU imported a total of 219.25 million kilograms of aubergines from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, valued at \u20ac323.73 million, with an average price of \u20ac1.48 per kilogram.<\/p>\n

Spain led EU exports with 134.46 million kilograms (61.33% of the total), which is 4.93% more than ten years ago, generating \u20ac193.79 million at an average of \u20ac1.44 per kilogram.<\/p>\n

The Netherlands came in second with 42.56 million kilograms (19.41% of the total), worth \u20ac62.88 million, or \u20ac1.48 per kilogram. Since the 2015\/2016 season, Dutch exports to EU markets have decreased by 21.34%.<\/p>\n

Germany ranked third with 11.08 million kilograms sold (5.05% of the total), valued at \u20ac19.06 million at \u20ac1.72 per kilogram. Turkey, in fourth place, exported 6.48 million kilograms for \u20ac9.91 million at \u20ac1.53 per kilogram. Italy rounded out the top five with 5.06 million kilograms valued at \u20ac8.67 million, averaging \u20ac1.72 per kilogram.<\/p>\n
