An arrest has been made after a man was assaulted in a busy Liverpool shopping area. At around 4.30pm, officers were called to Williamson Square to reports of a man being assaulted.<\/p>\n
An officer chased a suspect<\/a> and he was detained near to B&M on Clayton Square<\/a>. A 36-year-old man was arrested<\/a> on suspicion of Section 18 assault. He has been taken to a police station for interview. Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries.<\/p>\n The victim, a man in his 30s, is believed to have been punched and kicked. He has been taken to hospital for assessment.
